East Africa Tourist Entry

Travelers intending to visit the Republic of Kenya, the Republic of Rwanda and the Republic of Uganda for tourism are eligible to apply for an East Africa Tourist entry , this is valid for multiple entries within the three countries and is valid for 90 days after arrival.

Kenya Transit Permit

Kenya transit permit issued to the travellers who is connecting through Kenya to other destinations for a period not exceeding 72 hours. Those connecting flights directly without leaving the airport don't need to apply for Transit permit.Keep in mind this is not extendable.

In order to get the Kenya entry approval authorization, it should be accompanied by the following documents based on the purpose of travel: Travel itinerary such as hotel booking or flight ticket, Clear Passport bio data page, a valid passport with more than 6 months validation. A clear photograph.


COVID-19 Key Information for Travelers to Kenya

  • Upon arrival passengers will be subjected to medical screening and quarantine unless they come from a nation featured in the list of quarantine-exempt country.Arrivals from the majority of countries and territories are now exempt from Kenyan quarantine requirements unless they show signs of having COVID-19. However, travelers landing in the country from certain locations must undergo quarantine upon arrival.There are over 180 countries and territories whose citizens do not have to quarantine upon arrival as long as they meet the following criteria: 1,The passenger does not have a body temperature above 37.5°C (99.5°F) 2,The passenger does not have a persistent cough, difficulty breathing or other flu-like symptoms 3,The passenger has a negative PCR-based COVID-19 test conducted within 96 hours before travel.
  • COVID-19 Testing: Testing is available at the country’s major hospitals (Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi Hospital, Kenyatta National Hospital). The charge for the test is approximately USD 100 (KES10,000) at private health facilities and USD50 (KES 5,000) at government hospitals. Test results are available within 48 – 96 hours.
  • Users of public or private transport are required to wear a protective mask.
  • Foreign travelers eligible to travel to Kenya must complete a Health Surveillance online form in order to meet the COVID-19 safety requirements for the country.
